Agora Speakers International Foundation - Terms & Conditions
Sep 27th, 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms govern your use of websites, the Agora Speakers Online Platform, and other online services operated by Agora Speakers International Foundation (“Agora”, “we”, “us” or “our”), and your membership in Agora where applicable. By creating an account or applying for or maintaining membership, you agree to these Terms. If you only visit a public page, the provisions relevant to website visitors apply to your use.
Agora is registered in Bulgaria under number 205228771. Our registered address is ul Buntovnik 52, 3ap. 1421 Sofia, Bulgaria. Our online address for contacts is info@agoraspeakers.org
2. Membership and governing documents
Membership is subject to acceptance by Agora. Members agree to act in accordance with the Foundation’s applicable governing documents, rules and policies, as identified and made available from your membership console. Those documents may be updated according to their own procedures. We will make material changes that affect members reasonably accessible and communicate them as appropriate.
Membership in Agora and membership in a local club are distinct. Clubs may have their own admission requirements and operating arrangements, subject to applicable Agora rules. Membership does not confer any employment, agency or authority to represent Agora unless expressly authorized.
Agora may decline an application or suspend or end a membership at its discretion, including where a member breaches these Terms or applicable governing documents, fails to meet a membership condition, or acts in a way that harms the organisation or its community. We may take immediate action where reasonably necessary to protect people, services or Agora; otherwise, we will ordinarily give notice and an opportunity to address a remediable issue. Decisions remain subject to applicable law and the Foundation’s governing documents, including any required procedure or appeal. Ending membership may also end access to member-only services and materials.
3. Email communications
Members must provide a working email address, keep it current, and maintain an active email presence so that they can receive and reasonably monitor Agora messages. Members agree to receive at least Agora’s general membership communications by email, including organizational updates, changes to membership arrangements, essential programme and community information, and operational or security notices. Blocking, rejecting or opting out of these required communications, or repeatedly allowing delivery to fail without correcting the problem after notice, is incompatible with continued membership and may result in suspension of membership until a working channel is restored.
Optional marketing or promotional emails, where offered, are separate. A member may decline those without losing membership. We process personal data as explained in our Privacy and Data Protection Policy .
4. Eligibility, accounts and participation
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. Where a service or club activity is intended for minors, the applicable youth rules and any required parent or guardian permissions also apply. Creating a website account does not, by itself, make you a member.
You are responsible for keeping account information accurate, safeguarding your sign-in credentials, and promptly notifying Agora of suspected unauthorized access. Use the services lawfully and respectfully. Do not misuse another person’s data, impersonate others, disrupt the services, or post content that infringes others’ rights or violates applicable Agora rules.
Where the global member directory is provided as part of membership, the member information described in our Privacy and Data Protection Policy will be visible to other authenticated members, subject to applicable law. Optional public profiles and professional opportunity features are governed by the choices and notices presented for those features.
5. Community features and contributions
Where we offer profiles, forums, wikis, comments or uploads, you are responsible for content you submit and for having permission to include any third-party work or personal information. Do not post harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, unlawful content, spam, misleading impersonation, another person’s private information without an appropriate basis, or material that infringes rights. Do not scrape the member directory, send unsolicited commercial messages to members, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the operation or security of our services.
By submitting an original contribution to Agora, including a translation, wiki edit, educational material, text, image or other creative work intended for use in Agora services or materials, you assign to Agora Speakers International Foundation, upon submission, all transferable intellectual property rights that you own in that contribution, worldwide and for the full period of protection, to the extent permitted by applicable law. This includes the rights to reproduce, adapt, translate, publish, distribute and make the contribution available in any medium. Where an assignment is not effective under applicable law, you instead grant Agora an exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free and transferable license, with the right to sublicense, to exercise those rights to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, you waive applicable moral rights; where waiver is not permitted, you consent to Agora editing and using the contribution as described here, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be waived. You confirm that you have authority to grant these rights and have disclosed any third-party material requiring separate permission. A contribution does not include your account details, directory entry, private messages, personal profile information, or a speech or recording submitted solely to track your own educational progress; those items are handled according to the applicable feature terms and Privacy and Data Protection Policy . You should not submit a contribution unless you agree to this assignment. Once submitted, the transfer or fallback license is permanent: leaving Agora, closing an account, or later changing your mind does not require Agora to remove, reverse, restore a previous version of, or stop using the contribution. Agora decides whether and how to edit, publish, retain or remove it. These intellectual-property terms do not remove any rights you have under data-protection law in relation to personal data contained in a contribution.
We may review, restrict or remove content and limit access where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect people or systems, or comply with law. We do not endorse member statements merely because they appear on an Agora service. Report concerns to support@agoraspeakers.org.
6. Use of the Platform and member information
We permit you to access and use the websites and Platform for their intended personal, educational and Agora-related purposes, subject to these Terms and the Copyright Policy. This permission is personal, limited, non-transferable and ends when your access ends. It does not give you rights in the software, databases, design, trademarks or other protected elements of the services.
Do not use automated tools to extract member information or substantial portions of the websites, bypass technical access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, introduce harmful code, overload the services, or collect data for unrelated commercial, political or other external purposes. Access to the member directory is for genuine Agora community and organizational activities. Do not publish directory data elsewhere, sell it, share it with unauthorized people, or use it to send unsolicited offers. Do not publish another person’s private correspondence without appropriate permission.
Agora may suspend access to a feature while investigating misuse or to address security or operational needs. We may correct errors, maintain the services, change features or discontinue them. We do not guarantee continuous access or permanent storage of content. If we provide an export facility, use it while your account remains available; mandatory access and data rights continue to apply.
7. Materials and intellectual property
Agora’s websites, documents and educational materials are protected by intellectual property rights. Your access does not transfer ownership or grant permission to redistribute, modify, host or sell materials. Permitted uses are described in our Copyright Policy and in any specific license displayed with an individual item. Where a specific item states its own license, that license governs that item to the extent of any conflict with the general Copyright Policy.
Rights granted by law remain unaffected.
If you submit content, translations or edits, you remain responsible for having the rights needed to submit them. Any assignment or license of rights to Agora must be set out in the applicable contribution terms or other valid agreement; these Terms alone do not transfer ownership of your contributions.
8. Names, logos and links
Agora’s name, logos and other marks may be used only as permitted by the applicable branding and Copyright Policy or with written permission. Membership or club affiliation does not authorise a person to suggest that Agora sponsors, approves or guarantees an independent product, service, event or opinion. Authorised clubs may identify their affiliation accurately in accordance with the governing documents and branding rules. You may link to publicly accessible Agora pages if the link does not misleadingly imply endorsement or misrepresent the page. Do not bypass access restrictions, mirror our materials, embed them in a way that obscures their source, or link directly to protected files in a way that conflicts with our Copyright Policy. A link from Agora to another website does not make Agora responsible for that website.
9. Availability and educational information
Agora may update, correct, withdraw or change its services and educational programme. The guide and other reference materials may describe practices as of their publication date; the current governing documents and official online resources should be consulted for current requirements.
Documents, tools and educational materials are provided “as is” and “as available”. Agora does not promise that they will be error-free, complete, current, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose. You should use your own judgment when relying on educational content. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Privacy and member choices
Our Privacy and Data Protection Policy explains how the Foundation handles personal data, including information in accounts, the member directory, club and educational records, optional features and communications. A club that independently collects data through its own website, event form or mailing list is responsible for providing the information required for that separate activity. Acceptance of these Terms does not replace a consent required by data-protection law for an optional feature.
Do not upload someone else’s sensitive personal information, private records or recordings without a lawful basis and any permissions required for the feature. If a service allows you to choose whether to make information public, check the visibility setting before submitting it. Information shared with other members may be copied by recipients outside Agora’s control, even if Agora later limits access to the original.
11. Clubs, events and external services
Local clubs may organize their own meetings and charge local fees as permitted by Agora’s rules. Any club fee, refund arrangement or event-specific condition should be disclosed by the relevant organizer before you commit to it. Agora may link to services operated by third parties; their own terms and privacy notices may apply. The existence of a link does not mean Agora endorses all third-party content.
12. Official Agora events and media
This section applies to events organized or expressly sponsored by Agora Speakers International Foundation, including conventions, contests, workshops and training sessions (“official Agora events”). It does not, merely by affiliation, apply to an event organized independently by a local Agora club.
Official Agora events may be photographed, filmed, audio-recorded or live-streamed. Registration materials and notices at the event will explain what will be recorded, whether it will be broadcast, and how the Foundation expects to use the resulting photographs, recordings, excerpts and still frames. By attending, you acknowledge that incidental inclusion in general event or audience footage may occur. Subject to applicable law and the information given for that event, the Foundation may use such material to document and promote its charitable and educational goals, including on its websites, social-media channels, publications and event marketing, without paying participants for incidental appearances.
Participants may contact the event organizer before or during the event to request reasonable arrangements to avoid being photographed or recorded; requests concerning publication can be sent to support@agoraspeakers.org. We will assess such requests under applicable law, recognizing that a live broadcast or material already distributed may not be fully retractable.
A minor must not be photographed, filmed or audio-recorded at an official Agora event without prior permission from the minor’s parent or legal guardian. Permission to record a minor does not itself authorize publication or promotional use. Further information about processing of images and recordings, legal bases, retention and individual rights is provided in our Privacy and Data Protection Policy and any event-specific notice.
13. Reports and requests
To report unlawful content, misuse of member data, a security concern or a suspected breach of these Terms, email support@agoraspeakers.org with the location of the material or account concerned and an explanation sufficient for us to assess it. Do not include more personal or sensitive information than necessary. We may ask for further details, preserve relevant records where lawful, remove or restrict material, or refer a matter to a competent authority when appropriate.
Questions about an independent club’s decisions or activities should normally be raised with that club first. Complaints about the Foundation or misuse of Agora’s rules may be sent to Agora directly. These contact routes do not replace any legal remedy or right to approach a supervisory authority.
14. Responsibility and applicable rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Agora is not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on educational materials or interruptions beyond its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for intentional misconduct or any mandatory consumer rights. These Terms are subject to applicable law and the Foundation’s governing documents. If a provision cannot be enforced, the other provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
15. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. This choice does not deprive anyone of protections that cannot be excluded under the laws applicable to them, including any mandatory consumer protections. Any dispute concerning these Terms may be brought before the courts of Bulgaria where those courts have jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits a person's right to bring proceedings before another court, or requires a person to defend proceedings in Bulgaria, where mandatory jurisdiction rules provide otherwise.
16. Changes and contact
We may revise these Terms. We will publish the revised version with its effective date and give members reasonable notice of material changes. Where applicable law requires additional steps or consent, we will follow those requirements. If you have questions about these Terms or a membership decision, contact support@agoraspeakers.org.
